Overview

If kids want a hamburger, they won’t get it at duPlooy’s. A part of the environmental agenda here, there is no beef on the menu because of the impact of cattle grazing on the rain forest. This is one of the original eco-lodges in Belize, although electricity and hot water are among the amenities that have been added in recent years. Adjacent to a 45-acre botanic garden, this is a great place to come to immerse your children in the issues of the rain forest. Guide walks through the jungle are available day and night, along with guided birding expeditions. For fun, go swimming or canoeing in the Macal River and day trips to nearby Mayan ruins complete the educational experience.

Beautiful Peaceful Stay

by Annie D

We had a wonderful stay at Sweet Songs. It is real piece of of paradise with the lush jungle surrounding you. We found the river tubing idyllic, the kids enjoyed paddling ahead while my husband and I drifted behind. The whole family enjoyed watching the toucans feast at breakfast and the kids fed visiting kinkajous in the evening. I especially appreciated the care Sweet Songs took of learning our dietary restrictions and offering thoughtful alternatives at all meals.

Sweet Songs is amazing

Highly recommend this place, small, quiet, and just what you would want for staying in the jungle. Great wildlife, great food, good service.
The fresh water river and beach were wonderful.
I was very impressed with the customer service, and also the quality of food served. I am no foodie, but I really thought the food was of very high quality and fresh. I have stayed at all-inclusive places where this was not the case.
