Old Florida Quaintness on the Intercostal Waterway

by Pat K

We’ve been regulars at this resort for years. It’s floor plan offers safe, secure rooms with a private pool and fishing dock. It is a great place for family and friends to relax and unwind. Only 2 blocks from the best beach in the lower 48!

Not the Gem I was hoping for

We stayed for 2 days and enjoyed the facility. As local Floridians we were having family come to Clearwater for a 50th bday. They stayed at a different location and were there for a week. So not wanting to worry about driving back and forth to Wesley Chapel we rented a room close by for 2 nights. It was Priced reasonably and accommodated our 2 day time frame. Many places had 4 day minimums and were very expensive. We had a wonderful day at the beach and wanted to share our beautiful pool with them before dinner. They had a very nice pool at their location but ours offered a nice view of the intercostal. We were not a loud or obnoxious group but the minute they walked into the courtyard the owner came out of his unit and told us they couldn’t go in the pool it was for occupants only. Kind of embarrassing. One person jumped into the intercostal to cool off and was told that was unacceptable as well. The owners have been sued a lot apparently and are absolutely petrified of future ones. It’s sad that they are forced to be that way and are running their business in such a way it will affect us wanting to return. I would love to head down for a few days but to not be able have friends meet up with us and enjoy someplace a little different is sad. It would have been a great little hidden gem for us and our local friends but I’ll keep looking.
