We stayed at the Embassy Suites with my 2 year old son while I attended a conference in Atlanta. The location really cannot be beat in order to take advantage of many of the local attractions. The hotel is directly on Centennial Park, which not only more +has a big, beautiful grassy area, but a water feature that essentially functions as a mini water-park for kids, 2 playgrounds, and lots of free music, etc. in the evenings. Also, its an easy walk (even for a 2 yr old) to the Georgia Aquarium, World of Coca Cola, and a children's museum.

The hotel includes a free breakfast which is served in the Ruth's Cris restaurant on the lobby level. Tons of options including made-to-order omelets. The nearest Marta (subway) station is a few blocks. We walked it in order to access some other attractions, but you wouldn't want to haul luggage that far with a kid in tow - use the local van service. You can also catch a bus right across the street from the hotel in order to get to the Atlanta Zoo (about a 15 min ride). It was hard to find someone who could give us the right info, but the bus number you want is #97 - it will take you straight there and back again when you're finished. The hotel does not have a pool, but there are plenty of other things to do right outside the door. Also, free cocktails every evening for Mom & Dad in the lobby, along with some snacks.

The accommodations are adequate and reasonably clean - maybe a little dated. But, the price can't be beat considering you're getting a suite - i.e., a separate room for the kid(s) to go to sleep in while Mom & Dad get to stay up.
