We decided go on a cruise and have a few days stay in Miami pre-cruise. I found out about the Epic from a friend and found a good rate, although this 5 star hotel can be pricey. We flew into Miami International and took a taxi to the Epic. A
more +porter stood waiting, helping us with our bags and welcoming us to the Epic. Asking our name, he spoke into a walkie- talkie. While walking through the opulent lobby, we were amazed as we stopped at the front desk to be greeted by name. (Apparently by walkie-talkie.)
We had a wonderful young man whisk us up to our junior suite on the 19th floor, Suite 1920 to be exact. Stepping into our room put a huge smile our faces. It was stylish, well suited, posh and comfortable. Our balcony was small but in a great location and the views day and night were stunning. The bathroom was very large, with a deep soaking tub, large glassed in shower and separate commode area. Great bathroom!
We went to the 16th floor to the pools. Bruno greeted us within the first 30 seconds we were there, putting towels on our chairs and rolling one for our necks. A glass of cold vitality water with an orange slice was placed in our hands (and wow) relaxation set in immediately. The pools were the perfect temperature with adorable cabana's, chairs and chaise lounges strategically placed about. We ordered lunch and I can say it was the best hamburger I've ever had. Ever. Ever!
That night we had our anniversary and Jake's birthday/adoption celebration dinner at Area 31. (Their signature restaurant) Our dinner was delicious augmented by the wonderful wait staff. We lingered over dinner and dessert and was surprised by a plate of sweet treats brought to our room by the restaurant manager along with a hand written note as an anniversary treat. Such wonderful service. In fact, it's the service that really wins you over. Sure the hotel is stunningly beautiful, but it's the smiling faces you encounter everywhere that really puts in as number one.
In the mornings, included is a continental breakfast. This breakfast is anything but continental! It's eggs, bacon, potatoes, coffee and juice or a basket of delicious pastries, coffee and juice. Incredible!
I'd love to spend a week here, not just a couple pre-cruise nights. We have nothing praise for this hotel/resort. Can't wait to come back!!
PS: The Acqua di Parma toiletries are worth the stay alone!! Smell soooo good!
