All of the Chateau's restaurants have children's menus. The Poppy Brassiere, an informal restaurant, serves a buffet breakfast ($26 Canadian), Continental breakfast ($18 Canadian) as well as individual portions of eggs, pancakes and other typical breakfast items. High chairs are available. For lunch, the restaurant offers burgers, salads, pasta, sandwiches and vegetable stir fry. Entrees with a soft drink, ice tea or coffee range from $22-$27. In summer, enjoy lunch on the patio with its lake view. In summer the Poppy Brassiere serves dinner as well.
From the children's menu, ages 6 to 12 can pick pasta, pizza, chicken fingers, hot dogs and burgers (price range $4.50-$8.95 Canadian) as well as steak or broiled chicken ($9.95 Canadian). Desserts include banana splits, chocolate chip cookies, ice cream and fruit salad ($2.95 -$5.95)
For sandwiches, snacks and picnic fare for your hikes, go to the Chateau Deli, open 24 hours. The small eatery also offers muesli for breakfast as well as hot chocolate and coffee plus brownies and the deli's special banana bread. The Deli will also deliver to your room, a nice touch that's part of the resort's 24-hour room service.
Ever try bison? That's one of the specialties at Tom Wilson Steakhouse, along with Alberta beef. The contemporary restaurant with its open kitchen starts meals with trendy tapenades and Naan bread. Fish and designer pizzas are also available.
For off-property dining, we recommend Lake Louise Station on the outskirts of the town of Lake Louise. The former CPR train station, simply decorated with old railroad lanterns and posters, serves moderately priced (for the area) burgers, chicken, lamb chops and other such fare.
