Much better than your average LOG CABIN- Fairmont Chateau Montebello- the world's largest log cabin!

The resort is an upscale, ACTUAL almost-star-shaped LOG CABIN, built in the 1930's from thousands of Douglas Fir , 3-foot diameter ,100 foot long logs.As you enter, you are greeted by a three-story, six-sided, stone fireplace, and a wide-open more +lobby, with the comfortable, rustic decor,rooms accessible from balconies overlooking the huge atrium.There is a huge pool, a curling rink, horse-back riding, sleigh rides and snowmobiling in winter, and millions of dollars worth of private yachts and pleasure boats in the private marina next to the manicured lawns and gardens.The formal dining area and the less-formal restaurant spoil you with succulent french-influenced cuisine. The adjacent 10,000 acre forested wilderness area called Kenauk hosts Hummer /Range Rover excursions or private, One lake- One cottage , rustic fishing retreats. There are lots of activities for children of all ages , from 2 to 82. Games rooms and the pool keep the kids busy and outdoor activities on the lawn keep everyone happy. Within a 15 minute drive is the world-famous Parc Omega, which you can visit by car or by bus ,all year round, and see wild wolves, bears, deer, moose, raccoons, wild boar,bison, all in their natural habitat.You can feed most of them carrots and apples from your car window. The kids really like that! Across a short ferry ride and 30 minutes west, is another small, but world-class Papanack Zoo, Wendover, Ontario, where you can visit white lions, tigers, and many other animals.Within an hour, south west,on Hwy 417, you can also visit the world's largest water park- Calypso, at Limoges- just opened in the fall of 2009.
