We stayed at the Firesky Resort in Scottsdale, Arizona with our 4 yr old daughter. Upon arrival, we were greeted by valet with a smile. As we checked in they took the time to acknowledge our daughter (who has sensory processing disorder) and asked more +us if we would prefer a room closer to the pools and on the ground floor! They gave us this free upgrade and then handed my daughter a mesh backpack filled with a sand shovel, beach ball, bottled water, sunglasses and other goodies--she was just thrilled!

When we got to our room, the air conditioning was already on, music was playing and there was a little goldfish in a bowl to welcome us!!

The room was wonderful! Large beds and bathroom and SUPER CLEAN!! We opened our door to the patio, which led us right to the palm trees, gorgeous foliage and sandy beach area! Lots of available covered cabanas, free of charge (good for naptime) and lounge chairs a-plenty! There was also a waterfall and little bridge you can swim under. As soon as we were settled the waiter came over to see if there was anything we needed...we ordered some drinks and sandwiches. Everything was modestly priced and the food was FRESH!

Although there were a lot of guests, it never seemed too crowded. All of the kids were in the pool with the sand in it and the adults were in the other larger pool. We swam for a while and then we headed to McCormick Train Park, which was 5 minutes away. My daughter LOVED this park. It felt like we went back in time. There was a old fashioned Merry Go Round ($1 per person) and a open car train ($1) that went around the park. In the air conditioned buildings they had different types of model trains and a train museum. They also have a small restaurant, which we had ice cream it.

The playground was BIG with misters to cool the kiddos off with. Different areas for different age groups so big kids weren't mixed with the little kids. It was a FANTASTIC PARK! On Sundays evenings in the summer they have live music in the evening. We ran to the store, grabbed some stuff for a picnic and laid on the grass, listened to music, watched the stars and rode the merry-go round. This day day couldn't have been better.

We asked for a late check-out and they told us to TAKE OUR TIME and enjoy the hotel! Honestly, I didn't want to leave. We didn't have time to shop, but Scottsdale Fashion Square is just 5 min. away and is an AMAZING place to shop. We loved everything about the Firesky Resort and we will be back. Rates were around $89 from May-Sept. then they go up to $239 in the Fall/Winter.
