Default Review WDW - 7/18-25/2009

Here's a review of our family's recent visit to WDW. Hope you enjoy....here is our background: DS - 21, DS - 17 and DD - 11.

Last year we gave our kids two choices for a family vaction: cruise (since DH and I had the pleasure of cruising the Carnival Glory - eastern caribbean for our 25th anniversary 8-5-09) or Disneyworld. My oldest DS and DD voted for Disney, however, the 17 year old wanted no part. He went two years ago on a school trip and let's just say, he was Disney'd out! He told us to go and have a wonderful time and that he'll be on board for a cruise in 2010.

Since our DS wasn't joining us, we invited our other DS's GF to come. She excitedly accepted our invitation.

On Thursday the 16th, two days before leaving for our trip, our DD caught the 24 hour stomach bug . Needless to say, she wasn't very happy about that and neither were we because we weren't sure if anyone else would catch it.

We left our house at 6 a.m. Saturday and started our road trip to Disney which was estimated to be 9 hours 45 minutes. Some few hours later, in Marianna, FL, the DS's GF was experiencing what she thought was car sickness. Made a stop so she can get some Dramamine and we later learned, she too caught the 24 hour stomach bug.......now the question arose, who's next???

We reached our destination at 7:00 p.m., some 12 hours later and were excited to finally be there.

The Shades of Green was completely renovated since our last visit 7 years ago and let me say, the hotel was gorgeous! A renovation job well done - the waterfall was beautiful!

We checked in with no problems and were off to our room for some relaxation after that long road trip.

Need to get some work done at the office. Will continue with my review a little later.
