WOW! When is the next flight out??? I got to get me some of that Alberta! Looks gorgeous, but then, I know most of Canada generally *IS* that gorgeous and full of so much beauty, heck even the city was gorgeous! Makes me wonder what I am still doing with MY crazy life in a big, overcrowded, insane city!?! I know I can't just up and move to Canada, though my great grandparents came from Montreal, but it MUST be on my LIST OF PLACES TO SEE SOON, LIKE NOW, list........no time to waste, it is clear from these lovely photos posted here. I have to get me THERE!!

My pleasure! I'm a traveler who looks, listens, learns about where/when to go next. I listen to what other people say - and I've been hearing GREAT STUFF about Canada since the 80's but wasn't able to travel back then. So I *knew already* that it was great. I've learned a lot by working on the travel boards for 14 years and so I've heard specifically about WHICH places to go (almost everywhere!!
)) and now, with your pics and some pics of my friend's trip this past June (she was in Calgary and beyond) I've SEEN some awesome vistas and well, who can resist? It's just too wonderful not to go. I actually almost did have a visit booked to PEI, Nova Scotia and Halifax once but that trip fell through, mostly on account of a difference of opinion - my opinion lost out .....but the west and all of the big cities, well I just know I could spend a month straight exploring Canada and not break the tip of the iceberg but it would be a great start!! ![]() So it's HIGH on my *list* now and I am excited to think of being there in the not too distant future. Thanks to all who have shared for helping to tell about beautiful Canada, which is part of my French heritage, and ensuring that I will indeed get there! I'm beholden to all who have posted.

Good evening. Just signed up. First post here.
I am in Canada. My wife and I reside in an historic home with our 2+ year-old-twins on a couple wooded acres just a few steps outside a very small rural village near Ottawa, our nation's capital. I've travelled Canada extensively. Well, the whole world, actually. If anyone has any questions about Canada, especially travel in Canada, I would be happy to provide my insights. Looking foward to poking around. Family & travel - my two favorite things! Cheers,

We are from Canada too.
We live in the most beautiful part of BC, right smack dab in the middle of the Rockie Mountains. Anyone familiar with BC have probably heard of either Fernie or Cranbrook, well we live half way between both in a small rural country town, population about 200 on a good day. We are 4 hours from Calgary, 2 hours from Lethbridge, 1/2 hour from the Montana border. Granted we have long winters that sometimes can be very cold and lots of snow, but our summers are amazing. The wildlife runs around bountifully, we have great hunting, fishing, camping, hiking in our area. What more does a person need, far enough away from the big cities but close enough for a day trip if we wanted. We all around here say we live in "God's Country" My husband grew up in the area, but moved further up north in his young adult life. We moved back here after getting married and never left again, perfect place to have raised our daughter. I was not born in the area, heck not even in country. I am originally from UK but moved to Canada when I was a child, living in Saskatchewan for 2 years before moving to BC. |
