Default National Parks with Small One?

Our daughter will be 1 1/2 this summer and we love to travel but haven't so much since she's been born (we did do a cruise when she was 6mo with my parents though who helped us watch her). She's not a fan of riding in the car for more than 1-2 hours but we'd love to go to a Nat'l Park, possibly Yellowstone or Grand Tetons (fly up there then rent a car?) We've been to most in CA and want to stay out of the heat of the southern Nat'l Parks with a little one. Does anyone have any suggestions? We're used to hiking and being pretty active but we haven't really since our daughter was born.

Get a baby backpack/carrier and go. We hiked throughout Alaska and elsewhere with our twins and it's a great way to get exercise and to let your child experience the outdoors.

Also, it's worth helping your child acclimate to longer car trips. It gets easier as they get older, but it does take a lot of effort on your part to keep them entertained and distracted.

Default go to the Mountains

I would do a city / national park trip. When we had just one, we did Seattle / Olympic National Park with the baby backpack and we hardly used the Stroller.
