Default Mexico mainland vs Cabo at X-mas time??

Are the hotels busier on the mainland than Cabo during the Christmas season? It seems like the locals could get to Ixtapa easier than they could get to Cabo...

There are locals living outside of any major tourist town and many locals have the means (money) to travel. Cabo gets busy as do all other locations much more so than "mainland" as many people get a couple of weeks off for the Holidays.

Thanks Sophia, I have been to Cabo at Christmas time the last 2 years and the hotels were all about 30 percent full. Hope this is how it will be in PV this year. The absence of people improved the service etc. Thanks again for your reply! Mike

I think the last two years have been abnormally slow all over, yet PV is busy at Christmas due to the close proximity to Guadalajara. The beahces are usually quite crowded especially Los Muertos beach. Have fun!
