Default Best SoCal destination?

We are spending a few days in Disneyland, then three mOre days exploring southern California. We fly out of Santa Ana so we want a hotel relatively close (within 20 or so miles) to SNA. Our interests include : beaches, parks, general sightseeing , etc. our children are ages 4, 9, and 12. Any suggestiOns?

First things that come to mind and are close to Anaheim/Santa Ana area is Knott's Berry Farm and their Knott's Berry Soak Water Park......both in Buena Park and a short trip from where you'll be; notorious for fun and repeat visits when folks go back to Cali.

Also nearby are a few options for Zoos and Aquariums.......should be enough for 3 days of action!

I'm attaching this link which is broken down by category & color coded; in each category the attractions listed first are the closest to where you will be located; further down each category, the further away the attraction. I'm including it in case you might be looking for something specific. Otherwise, Knotts & Zoo might just do it for your family!

Have a great time at Disneyland and the rest of your Cali trip!

Knott's Berry Farm is one of our family favorites!! This year we are also spending time at the Aquarium of the Pacific, and the Queen Mary. We also enjoy visiting the theme dinner venues, such as Medieval Times and the Pirates Dinner Adventure which provide a meal and entertainment or the whole family.

Smile Thank you!

Thanks so much! That link that breaks everything down by category is wonderful. I've added it to my favorites list! Now the biggest problem is that there are so many choices of things to do! Thanks again. We're really looking forward to our vacatiOn.

PS we spent a day at Knott's during our last visit and loved it. Definitely on our list of things to do again! We actually stayed at the Knott's hotel an we're very happy with it.

So happy the link was helpful.....I thought it was well done!! Glad it was a keeper for you

Yes indeed, Knotts Berry has so much to do, that like other great parks, we can go again and again........you know!!

There's lots to do so I am sure you'll all agree on some great plans!! Let us know what you decide on, either before you go or if you leave it "open" till you get there and do a travel report when you return!

Each week a travel report is selected as "Report of the Week" and the winner receives a FamilyVactionCritic.com tote bag! Handy for use on future trips!
You can also enter for "Photo of the Week" too, you can post trip photos and if yours is chosen, you might win that way - two chances to win something after your trip! Pic or Report!!

Most of all, have a WONDERFUL time!
