We will soon be on our way to Jamaica. Do we need to exchange any of our USD to Jamaican currency, or will we be fine with with American money? We are staying at an all inclusive resort, but wonder how to tip etc. when on tours or other venues. Any advice is appreciated.
As it turned out almost everyone accepted American currency. We did run into a few places that only gave change in Jamaican currency though, and it was usually just coins. At the time we traveled (last week) the exchange rate was USA $1.00 = Jamaica $89. So don't be shocked if you see a bead necklace selling for 1500.00, it hasn't been converted to the US dollar yet.
