This beach resort offers families spacious guest rooms and suites, a variety of on-site dining options, two golf courses and a marina for sailboats, yachts and fishing boats. Families will enjoy the large pool complex with sprayers, waterfalls a kiddie pool and a slide. The resort offers lots of recreational activities including biking, sailing, volleyball, tennis, kayaking and supervised children's activities at Fun Camp. Nearby family attractions include the Battleship USS Alabama, the National Museum of Naval Aviation, Bellingrath Gardens and Home and Exploreum-IMAX Theatre.

My husband, two girls (ages 10 and 6) and I vacation at the Marriott Grande Hotel in Mobile Bay Alabama several weekends each summer. Even though it is a quick 2 1/2 hours away from where we live in New Orleans, I would drive further to get there.
