My kids think heaven begins in Bali. The Bali Grand Hyatt totally catered to my family! Yes, it's not inexpensive to get to Bali, but, once there, the accommodations are very reasonable. My family of four stayed in a lovely large, modern room. more +There was a sleeping alcove as part of the room so my two sons shared the bed that's tucked in the nook. We had plenty of space and were not tripping over each other. The grounds are very well maintained and beautiful. It's a large hotel so it feels somewhat like a labyrinth. I wouldn't feel comfortable having my child roam around because he might get lost! But, there's staff everywhere who are so very friendly with their sincere, "Good afternoon!" The Balinese people are among the kindest in the world. They LOVE children. Apparently the younger you are the closer you are to God. The hotel rate comes with a full (and I mean FULL) breakfast in a gorgeous tropical setting. There's something for everyone to eat and eat and eat. The swimming pools have so much to offer. There's a big slide, lazy river, big play pool, poolside smoothie bar. There's five or so restaurants to eat from. Some are more expensive than others, but we found we could also walk outside the hotel grounds (or take a cheap taxi) to the restaurants nearby. Local food is very inexpensive and delicious. The beach is right there with direct access from the hotel. The hotel has a very luxurious feel with its lovely grounds, professional staff and open air breezes through the lobby, but it's far less expensive than staying at any place of it's same caliber in the US. We paid about $150/night (and don't forget the FULL breakfast!) The gamalan music players in the lobby lend a unique feel to the experience, as well.

They have a kids club, but we only looked in. It seemed like the kids were having a great time, but my kids just wanted to hang out with us and swim.

There's also a traditional Balinese style show featured with dancers and music held on the grounds. The ticket for this includes a buffet style dinner that is something to write home about.

I was sad to leave this piece of paradise. Enjoy!
