First All inclusive - Good Experience

by amoghe

the 4 of us (Me and 3 other friends) visited this resort from November 5 - 10, 2019. Overall I'd give this resort a very favorable review. This is not a 5 star or a 4 star all inclusive resort. The change in hotel name and staff has it headed it in the right direction, but it's not there yet. The location is excellent, and the facilities are excellent. The minor annoyances that I experienced in the resort made me give this resort the 3 start rating the it deserves. Our rooms were roomy and spacious.. We were on the sixth floor and outside our room was the roof of the resort (Not really pretty), but beyond the roof was a nice view of the river and a nice view of Cancun.

What I could not figure out was the loud music we hear through the floors and walls every night coming from the Scores disco. We were on the 6th floor on the opposite side of the disco, but every night the music was clearly heard on the 6th floor in the halls and in my room.. I still don't understand how this noise wafted upwards so far away from the disco.. which i located one floor down from the main level!

The transfers from/to the resort were very easy and we had no issues getting to the resort. The $200 credit is pretty much useless with the over priced massages. We found a better deal for the fish massage ($50 for 2). Why would you buy overpriced wine at $80 or $90 when the house wine was acceptable?

My friends and I had some minor complaints (safe not working, leaks on faucets, temperature inconsistent). We didn't get a listing of daily activities until the middle of our visit.. In a five star resort, room maintenance and activities listing need to be perfect and consistent. The TV reception was consistently terrible across all channels. It was grainy and not HD quality on most of the stations.

The resort facilities were impeccable, I especially enjoyed the quietness of the Adult pool. I found this pool was great with the lounge chairs in the pool and the pool side bar service was excellent. Our server was very friendly and provided us with suggestions and provided excellent service. The game room near the pool was nice! The secret passageway from the adult pool was a nice surprise. Through the passage way we were able to get to the grill for quick finger food like hot dogs and burgers. The passage from the adult pool takes you to the workout facility and this gym was well kept,

If you want to go to a resort where there is no pressure to do anything, and you want to just lounge by the multiple pools, this place is for you. I especially liked the swim up bar at the main pool area. This pool area has multiple pool areas and as you can guess, it is noisy. You can easily find a place to lounge, regardless of where you decide to chill.

For me the best place to get coffee was the Cafe near the adult pool. The unsweetened vanilla late was my choice. They have cookies and fruits and as well here.. Service here was outstanding.

The variety and quality of food across the resort is excellent! Mexican, French, Italian, Asian, Sushi(Outdoor) and the Grill (outdoor). The buffet restaurant was well stocked with a variety,.. I loved the omelette station and the variety of juices and smoked salmon. Beyond that the rest of the buffet is average quality. If you go for breakfast, you must go early, or you will be waiting up to 30 minutes.

One day we went to Sushi and they told us that they had no chopsticks nor any forks.. In what 5 star resort would a server tell you that?? Unbelievable!

Another annoyance that bothered me across the resort was the temperature in the public spaces. I found myself sweating in the lobby and in the bar on the main level. To get this resort to the next level they must address the inconsistency in teperature across the indoor facilities.

We missed most of the entertainment at night, but when I saw what was being done, I was not really impressed. The last night's fire show was impressive.

The best part of this resort is hands down the access to the beach and the daily beach volleyball. Additionally, the bar service across the resort was impressive. This was 5 star service.

One thing you have to remember that wherever u go for dinner you must have long pants and collared shirts.. this I found to be acceptable and this is published at all the restaurants.

Another annoyance: Wine tasting of the house wine? Oh come on! We were pressured to join the wine tasting (only 5 of us were there!) and we wasted almost an hour tasting house wine which we drank every night.. A wine tasting for house wine? This is one hour that I lost, where I could have been in the pool or playing volleyball!

I know I've written a lot, but many of the points above were what I observed. I've never been in an all inclusive resort, so overall I did not feel like I was in a 5 star all inclusive resort.

Truly enjoyable stay

by MelRandy19

My fiancé and I visited Now Emerald Nov 1-8 and truly enjoyed our stay. Our room, although small, was very comfortable. The resort was having some renovations being done while we were there but we felt they did a good job of not letting it ruin the experience.

We definitely enjoyed the pool areas and were very spoiled by Alex, who after meeting on day one, made sure we had our lounge chairs ready with towels each and every day. He was very good at answering a lot of our questions and always had suggestions of things for us to try. He was a true class act and made it very obvious he enjoyed making his guests feel special. We were also very lucky at the pool to have great service from Kendor our first 2 days, and then Maria for the rest of our trip. We never had to worry about not having a drink in our hands no matter where we were at the pool.

We really enjoyed the Italian restaurant and absolutely LOVED the Asian restaurant “Spice”, it was delicious!! We spent every night enjoying the ocean breeze on the balcony surrounding the lobby bar and then would end up sitting at the bar being entertained by Sergio who was excellent! We did wish there was music in the lobby bar for a more fun vibe, but we ended up bringing in our pool speaker and played our own music which helped make things more lively.

Party nights at the Sports Bar was fun and Elias is amazing at creating a lot of unique drinks to try.

We loved that the beach at the resort was well maintained on a daily basis to make the blue water even more mesmerizing, it was great!

We really enjoyed our stay and definitely will be back to Now Emerald again soon!
