For three days of spring break, my son, his friend and I stayed at the Grand Pacific Palisades Resort. The parking at the resort was great. We parked very near our one bedroom condo. Because our accomodation had a kitchen, we could bring our more +groceries up very easily. In fact, Costco was at the end of the street.

We arrived in the evening and as soon as the boys saw the pool and water works -- brimming with kids, they jumped right into their trunks and then into the pool which was outside of our door. Legoland is across the street. A shuttle takes you to and from Legoland. We took a shuttle there, but walked back. Legoland, the aquarium, and now(I believe -- because it was being built for a summer opening)a brand new water park are all very close and accessible for energetic kids looking for fun.

This resort is clearly meant for families -- coin laundry, bar-b-que pits, indoor arcade. It is not high on luxury, but is fine for family travel. The rooms are neat and up to date. The bathroom was large with two showering areas. The kitchen is well appointed with dishes and pots and pans. Our accomodation offered a view of the beach and adjacent flower field which was in bloom while we were there. I thoroughly enjoyed having a cup of tea and watching the sun set in the evenings while the boys played with their newly purchased legos on the living room floor. I would recommend getting a first floor unit near the swimming pool.
