I am not one who would normally post a review mainly because I feel that a vacation is typically what you make of it but in this instance I feel obligated to share what we encountered during our stay at the Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton. Rather more +than boring you with the difficulties we experienced upon check in and how our requests to speak to a manager were ignored I'll skip straight to the MAJOR problems. I call these MAJOR problems because they are all things that are simply fixed and should be prior to guest arrival especially in what most sites list as a 4 star resort. They are all items that you shouldn't have to concern yourself with at any resort no matter what the rating. There were 7 people traveling in our group and once we finally got to our rooms these are some of the problems we experienced throughout our stay:

Telephone in room did not work
Mini Fridge did not work
Shower head broken
Bathtub did not drain
Television did not work
No towels/washcloths - this was an everyday problem
No trash can in room - when they brought one it still had trash in it
Safe did not work

The only items that were repaired during our stay were the safe and the shower head.

In addition to the issues with our rooms there were numerous issues with the property itself that in no way would allow it to qualify as even a 2 star resort. I have several pictures that show what I'm talking about. One of the worst things was the air conditioning not working ANYWHERE the last two days of our stay. I will say that several of the things that we pointed out did receive some attention before we left but the main issue is that guests should not have to bring these things to their attention especially since all of these things are in plain site!

We immediately began trying to contact Orbitz, through whom the trip was booked, but were unsuccessful until the second day of our trip. Unfortunately, after voicing our frustration and disappointment no less than 5 times to more people than I can count over the next 2 days, the only thing that was accomplished was running up $238 worth of roaming charges. Since we have returned we have continued communications with Orbitz, who I hold just as responsible as the resort, and nothing has been resolved.

In addition to contacting Orbitz we requested numerous times to meet with a manager. We were finally granted a meeting with the Assistant Director. After listening to our concerns he informed us he would have to do some investigating and would meet with us the following day to let us know his decision regarding compensation. His offer was that on our next trip to the Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton we would receive one free night and VIP status. Needless to say we declined this offer since there is no chance we will be returning to this resort. In the correspondence between Orbitz and the resort since we returned home the offer has been increased to two free nights. What about just giving us our money back for the time were there!!

Even if we didn't have all the problems I would still say the resort overall was just ok. The food was average, the grounds were pretty but could definitely use some work, half of the restaurants are open air so be prepared to sweat if you chose to eat at those, Sunset Cove is the best beach by far but watch out for all the stairs you have to climb to get back up to the bar!

We stayed for 10 wonderful days at the Grand Palladium Lady Hamilton in Lucea, Jamaica.
Everywhere we looked there was workers painting, planting, building & smiling!

The resort is very big and beautiful! The colours are more +truly amazing. We would recommend this to any family, they have a HUGE pool to lounge around in all day. The food was terrific always something to eat and if you couldn't find anything then you are being too picky! Our favorite restaurant was the Mexican. We ate there twice, also the Italian was very good! Alot of people liked the steakhouse but we really preferred the others more.

Our son tried the kids center, he really enjoyed it too. They had lots of Lego, toys, play center and a mini pool. He made a t-shirt that he still has and wears today.
