We stayed at the Grand Sirenis Riviera Maya after friends of our recommended it. It's a beautiful place, but huge!! The kids LOVED the lazy river & we spent alot of time there!! The beach is nice, but you have to wear shoes....especially in the more +water, or you won't be able to walk. It's a natural coral beach so it's very rough, but beautiful. You can snorkel 2 feet into the water, which is great, unless you're my son who is afraid of fish!! So my husband took our daughters snorkeling while my son & I were on the lazy river. There are 2 big pools, but mostly spent our time at one of them. The resort design is very modern, with a lot of natural vegetation....hardly any palm trees though. We prefer a more tropical feel to a resort, so we never really got that Caribbean feel.

The food was pretty good....Japanese EXCELLENT, steakhouse, very good. I didn't let my kids go to the kids club. You had to drop them off in the morning, where 1 or maybe 2 people would take the kids out all day & you pickup at the end of the day. We saw little kids going down the lazy river by themselves while the employees were looking after other kids. I don't mind having a 1-2 hr break from the kids, but I didn't bring them on vacation to desert them! It just didn't seem safe to me. The staff expected to be tipped and weren't happy with just a couple bucks either.

The rooms were beautiful! We went swimming with the Sea Turtles in Akumel which was amazing! The kids loved the speed boat ride....and snorkeling in the cenote. our son doesn't like deep water so we took turns sitting with him in the boat. We loved this day trip! the resort is beautiful, food is good, it just wasn't our type of resort. I wouldn't go back there personally, but not because of anything bad, just personal taste. We have several friends who have stayed there & loved it.

We enjoyed our stay it was fabulous. It was great for the kids the evening shows were geared for the family. They had a kid club all day and just before the evening show they had a interactive thing for the kids to burn off their energy so they more +would sit for the show. They had a huge beach with a restaurant to order food and drinks from all inclusive hamburgers or fish and fries and a taco bar to self serve. they had a lazy river that we made daily trips down. fabulous tour guides to take you sight seeing for a price though(off the resort) Great buffets & About 7 Al Cart restaurants Mediterranean was my fav. but I heard the japanese was great but it was fully booked . the steak house was good choice too.

The rooms were beautiful. service was great. they had a beautiful fitness facility and aqua sizes the pools - 3 or 4 swim up bars too. tanning beds in the middle of the pool. Beautiful pretty surroundings. Soda fountains to self serve and water bottles in room and a 2 liter container replaced daily of water. a fridge stocked with a few sodas and beer. My husband is a fussy eater so at times he went back to the room and ordered of the menu and got room service all inclusive also.

All in all it was great the only down fall is it is a HUGE resort so lots lots lots of walking I didn't mind but some might!
