We visited with our 10 year old daughter and our 8 month old. The water park in fall/winter is a nice escape. Wasn't crowded at all, even for a holiday weekend. The amount of glass windows in the water area makes it a little chilly, though. The more +water was way too cold for the baby.

The lobby is great, with a huge fireplace and they had Halloween decorations out that really set the mood. There is a magiQuest game (extra charge) but our daughter wasn't too enthused about it. I think kids probably enjoy it more with friends to play with. We bought her the birthday package, well worth it, included tokens for arcade, stuff-a-bear, airbrush tattoo, keychain, ice cream, mini golf; however, mini golf is not open for fall and winter.

Halloween activities included trick-or-treating through the lobby area, costume contest, and a cute live band that got the kiddos fired up. The crowd was a little young, our daughter was about the oldest kid there, but she had a blast. The food leaves a lot to be desired, hardly any choices, but this area of Concord (near the Speedway) is jam-packed with chain restaurants. There is also a large mall a mile or two away. It's too bad this resort is not closer to downtown Charlotte or Carowinds. It's a little bit of a drive in to Charlotte.

Definitely check out the Discovery Place while you're there. We've been there 3 times. Overall a good experience and worth the money.
