In addition to the two-hour-long stretches of Cub Club, you can hire private Cub Care, well-trained and first aid-certified caretakers who can take care of your little ones in your room while you enjoy a little alone time. (Spots fill up fast, so it might be wise to book this part of your trip before you arrive.)

Most families only stay at the Great Wolf Lodge for a day or two. Unless you're planning to spend a significant amount of time away from the resort, that's probably long enough for your kids to get their fill of the rides and slides, before you start to get the "I'm bored" cries.

The Art of Smart Timing
The beauty of an indoor water park is the year-round ability to ride the slides -- and rates and availability are generally better in the fall and winter months, especially on weekdays. (In other words, you'll probably have shorter wait times for the slides if you slip in when most kids are in school.)

Keep in mind, though, that the outdoor pool and park -- and many of the Niagara Falls attractions outside the resort -- will be out of commission as the weather turns cool.

Weather-wise, the summer and early fall are best, with temperatures in the 80s. Winters can be cold and snowy (which makes the balmy 80+ temperatures inside the water park even more enticing).

Getting There
If you're flying into town, Buffalo Niagara International Airport, about 20 minutes south of the Falls, is your best bet. The next closest major airport, Toronto, is more than 90 minutes from the Falls. (Don't forget that Great Wolf Lodge is on the Canadian side of the Falls, so you'll need a passport to cross the border.)

For Mom and Dad
Great Wolf Lodge caters predominantly to their pint-sized guests, but there is an Aveda concept spa, Element, that offers a perfect place to unwind while your kids are enjoying the Cub Club. (Consider booking a treatment in the special couples' suite, where you can indulge in treatments side by side with your mate.) There are also two adults-only water areas -- an indoor whirlpool and the Great Outdoor Hot Spa -- open year round (and only a very few steps from doorway: key for those frigid Canadian winters).
