We stayed here when we went to Ohio to go to Cedar Point. The kids enjoyed the water park at the hotel as much as the amusement park. It is great because you can enjoy the water park until it closes even on the day that you check out earlier in more +the day. One thing to note, the waterpark is only for guests, but on weekends can get crowded. It is best to go midweek (same goes for Cedar Point) if you are able to.

We took our two children to Great Wolf Lodge in Sandusky, Ohio. The location is easy to find and get to, and conveniently located near restaurants, grocery stores, and Cedar Point (although not walking distance). The water-park is warm and has more +plenty to do for all ages. There is a small wading pool for the younger kids, although it was a bit chilly. There are slides for bigger kids and adults as well as smaller slides for the in-between ages (around 3-6 years old or so). My biggest complaint is that none of the water-park is handicapped accessible. My 11 year old in disabled so a lot was lost on him since he can't use the slides. This is not limited to this water-park though - it is common at all of the ones we have been to. My favorite part is the lazy river. This is a big draw for the moms who just want to float around in an inner tube. Very relaxing!

Activities for the kids are great. They had a DJ and dance party the Saturday night we were there and often do story time. There is a room for kids to play in that gives them something to do when they're not in the water. It also has an arcade with some games for the older set.

Also great are the rooms. We had a fireplace suite, which is one of the smaller rooms. It was very comfortable and spacious with a wall dividing part of the room so there was a separate section with a TV and one with the beds. They have tons of different room styles and sizes.

This was a great place to stay. It is a bit pricey so watch for deals. We didn't use any of the dining options in the hotel, but they smelled really good!

We returned to GWL, Sandusky over Christmas again this year. Last year I reported that we had some issues with the lodge and we returned this year again because the kids requested it so much! They had fond memories of being able to go in a "family more +hot tub" and go on age-appropriate waterslides.

Of course it was quite busy, since it was Christmas break. We had a nice time, but I doubt that we will return again, since we like to see different places and explore new things. Twice we saw incidents with lifeguards not paying attention and having close encounters with children being hurt. We also had to alert the manager of the lifeguards once because the lifeguard in the lazy river was staring at her watch to leave and at the ceiling more than at the river. We are definitely the parents to watch our children religiously, but things do happen and the lifeguards should be alert.

We visited Great Wolf Lodge in Sandusky, Ohio over Christmas break for 2 nights. It was on the expensive side, but we booked late and it was over the holiday. We had a great time - although the hotel was packed, it never seemed too crowded. We used more +the in-room refrigerator to take breakfast and lunch items, then ordered pizza and had it delivered to the hotel for dinner. There are not many options on site for food. This is a great park for little tykes - ours were 2 and 5 at the time. We had a great vacation!
