Overview

With 1,775 guestrooms spread across 121 acres of beachfront property, the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana is easily one of the largest all-inclusive resorts in Punta Cana. The landscaped grounds feature lush gardens and sparkling water features surrounding the 16 guestroom buildings and guest facilities.

And, while you may think Hard Rock is more suited to adults only, families will be surprised and thrilled to learn that this hotel caters to all age groups. From the 13 pools — including a kids-only splash pad — and beach activities to the kids’ club, teen activities (can you say “arcade”!) and mini-golf course, there’s more than enough entertainment for the whole family.

The Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana also boasts a wide range of dining options sure to please both kids and adults. Think pizza and ice cream for the kids, and Japanese and a steakhouse – plus that ice cream – for the grownups. Families also will love how much space they have in their accommodations, especially the enormous, two-person showers. No family member will complain about a lack of something to do at this all-inclusive property.

Reviews

This hotel does not have the qualities that Hard Rock Cafe Company has accustomed us to

by staala4

We felt like we were in ex Moon Palace which was a terrible hotel. And we were not wrong.

Indeed, the whole hotel is outdated with a maintenance that is mediocre. In all the restaurants we had, the food was terrible whether it was breakfast, lunch or dinner. In the evening to relax, I asked for a glass of" Black Label" and it was really hard to get it because the waiter told me he did not have one. You really had to insist on getting it. I really did not feel like I was on vacation? Two things I enjoyed: a lot of friendly pools and Bands who perform at night. I attended other Hard Rock Hotels: Hollywood, Florida, Ibiza, Spain who deserved to be called Hard Rock Hotel but unfortunately not that of Punta Cana. I would not recommend this hotel.

Overpriced

by pieskatharin

I was expected so much amd was do disappointed
Its very far from any luxury
Rooms are outdated
So far away from the beach
And so ordinary food
Better to get more affordable Room amd save enough to go eat out every day

Family Activities

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana is an enormous property, so expect to walk a lot. Those with guestrooms close to the main building will have a short walk to most restaurants, shopping and entertainment, but a long walk to the beach and family pools. Likewise, those with rooms farther from the main building will have a longer walk to the restaurants, shopping and entertainment, with a shorter walk to the beach and family pools. To assist guests, a tram runs every 15 minutes for 24 hours per day. Guests also can rent their own golf cart using resort credits. Other activities also require resort credits, such as mini-golf, standard golf, a spa and shopping.

Pools
There are 13 pools at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana, but not all are family-friendly. At the Central Pool, you'll enjoy music and daily activities, while the Family Pool features teen-friendly music, waterslides and activities for guests 16 and younger. Additional pools include the Bongos Pool, Moon Pool, Guitar Pool, Woodstock Pool, Eclipse Pool, Drums Pool and Sun Pool.

The kids' waterslide, only for children 15 and younger (the minimum height is 43.3 inches, and the maximum height is 62.9 inches), also includes the ever-popular dumping bucket and some water spray features. Maximum depth is 1.5 feet. Waterslide hours are 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

There are two additional kids' pools near the kids waterslide: a regular swimming pool and a toddler pool. The toddler pool has a maximum depth of 1 foot. All other swimming pools have a maximum depth of 4 feet. There is a lifeguard on duty at the kids waterslide who patrols the area every 10 minutes. The Art of Smart Timing
The weather at Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana doesn't change much year-round, with average high temperatures ranging from 82 to 88 degrees Fahrenheit. However, high humidity can make it feel warmer than the actual air temperature. The water maintains a year-round temperature of 80 degrees Fahrenheit. The property's high season is long: January through May is busy with groups and conventions. Summer, Thanksgiving and Christmas is busy with both families and individuals. Therefore, the low season generally is August through October, but this also is when the humidity is pretty high.

Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana is approximately 20 minutes from Punta Cana International Airport. A one-way taxi ride from the airport to the hotel can run between $60 and $70. However, the hotel recommends that all guests arrange for a transfer from the airport to the property. Airport transfers generally cost approximately $50. To book an airport transfer, go to the hotel website under "Book Transportation" and enter your travel information to book a transfer with Blue Travel Partner Service.

Getting Around
Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Punta Cana does offer complimentary shuttle service to its golf course. For those taking an offsite excursion, round-trip transportation usually is included in the price of the excursion. If you want to explore the local area, plan to pay out-of-pocket for taxi service. Rental cars are available at the airport, but are not recommended unless you are staying for a lengthy vacation and plan to do a lot of your own sightseeing.

For Mom and Dad
When mom and dad have some alone time, they can spend some of it at one of the adult-friendly swimming pools, such as the Sax Pool. Or, if they prefer to be pampered, they can take advantage of the decadent treatments at the Rock Spa. In the evening, splurge on an intimate dinner for two at Simon Mansion. Wrap up the evening with dancing and cocktails at Oro Nightclub.
