Very Disappointing

by GaryDennett

There is extensive renovation going on, which was not communicated before I arrived. I was placed in the 3rd floor and half of the floor is either being renovated or cleaned, I am not sure, but there is a very strong chemical odor thourought the floor and they haven't mentioned it whatsoever.

Also, do not assume there is parking. I was told the underground garage does not accommodate most SUVs so to look for a spot out back. When I arrived back after a day out I was told by a concedesnding young woman at the front desk (who I waitied 5 minutes to speak to while a frustrated contractor tried to find out what rooms were vacant for him to work and then a call in which she was also rude to someone) it is first come first serve to so look on the side streets. I specifically picked the hotel as it had free parking and I know parking in banff can be an issue.

Don't waste your time here, there are many better options.

Excellent Service, Comfortable "Sound Proof" Rooms

by Helligonian

Three adults comfortably shared a room with two queen beds for a Friday and Saturday night.

Folks at the front desk were very friendly and helpful. Great coffee available each morning, too!

Lots of heated parking space underground as well as outdoors. There's even guest storage room underground for skis and other outdoor equipment. We didn't use the pool or other guest facilities, but based on our experience at High Country, I'd guess they are super clean and very well maintained.

All of the furnishings were in excellent condition; they must have been recently updated.

On our second evening, the Inn was full - lots of young hockey players and their families and, in spite of our room being centrally located next to an elevator, the room was so "sound proof" we didn't hear any noise whatsoever.

I will definitely stay at High Country again.
