The food quality and choices were very limited and very bad tasting! The water-drowned drinks (I am a non-drinker and two drinks did not put a dent in me!) is shameful for Hilton! The entertainment to occupy guest's was almost non-existence and more +bad (they had gambling set on crabs on the property to amuse guests!!) so-.. bad that majority of guests went to bed after dinner every night.

The hotel cheated us when we paid for an ocean FRONT room (paid extra money through Expedia) but was given an ocean VIEW room instead (partial view). Expedia has not refunded our money to date !! The hotel property location is by the water and excellent but in an isolated location with nothing around. It is located in an area with their private beach adjoining a secluded public beach area. Hilton claims a "private" and gated area beach which was a reason for us going there. The guests are often approached by drug pushers on the public beach, there is no security watching their gate and private beach. The gate was open so people walked right into the private property (including shady looking people). The fence was ripped and peopled crawled over the fence into Hilton property all the time. On their private beach area on the second day, my son got stocked by a Syringe Needle on their private beach as he was walking between the guest lounge chairs. It totally ruined our vacation as we spent hours & hours at the hospital, spent time with the hotel staff/mgr as they were unprepared for this event. Hotel staff are very nice people but they were unprepared especially the hotel manager. The hotel did not even offer to refund our money while we spent hours at the hospital there and many hours after invested to do follow-ups at the hotel which occupied many hours of our vacations. The employees however, are one of the kind in most departments, so polite and courteous. Nurse Gutfree, Mr. Van dam, & Robertson notably for their efforts to help us. We had to do all tests which was either not available and or in-complete in Jamaica in USA and many months of testing as the results. The Hotel general manager Mr. Day never came over to visit us, talk to us and or to check on us.

Favorites about this Hotel
Water view property- Excellent employees as good as Atlantic Resorts- great resort for retired people whom do not expect much for entertainment or food and like to rest in their rooms right after dinner.

Bad things about this Hotel
Food, Entertainment, Secluded location (nothing around and requires car rental which I highly DO NOT suggest as they drive much worse than NY city cab drivers) , not enough security patrol around or on the beach area, not cleaning the beach area which should have been done at least four times a day so it cleans up the possible tinted syringe needles found there. Their hotel is open to ONE DAY pass visitors from cruise ships, airline employees (or one night stay) which makes the "private secured beach" less desirable for longer staying guests like us. Beach is a short stretch enough to rest on but not on busy seasons- I was there the first week after New Year so not too busy. If you know any great attorneys, please e me.

Hotel Location
no civilization around- no restaurants or other stuffs around to do- must rent a car which I do not suggest as their drivers are the worse I have ever seen (worse than Mexico or NY city). Taxi is very expensive, public transportation is hard to find and not available often.

I'm not a picky person, however for the price of this hotel and the star rating I would have expected more from the Hilton chain.

Our stay was from May 1-8th. Reception is horrible at the hotel. No one took our bags, bellhops were more +just standing around chatting.

They had to change our room 3 times, as they kept giving us rooms we neither paid for nor asked for. I paid for a resort view, the reception stated she upgraded me to a mountain view....I viewed the room and it was a view of the street. I proceeded to go back downstairs to the lobby and asked for what I paid for, the reception gave me another room...4th floor ... I went to go check it out...with husband and 4yr old son in tow...this room was worse than the first they tried to have us stay in. It was a direct view of the blue roof tarp! You couldn't venture stay on the balcony for a second! My husband was furious, went to reception and left us on the 4th floor and explained to them that we want what we paid for, a resort view, and what can they do for us? Finally the manager came up to the 4th floor and showed us two more rooms on the 6th floor and we chose what we paid for...the resort view!

It was a lot of hassle that took over an hour to resolve.

We stayed at Iberostar last year....that was a dream compared to this hotel and service they offer at Hilton.
The people that work at Hilton are not happy. I met only two people that seemed to enjoy their jobs, Anna Kay at the Fresh restaurant and Smiley at Three Palms. That's it! No one ever came around the pool to ask us if we'd like a drink, hardly any service in the buffet and there aren't any employees that let you know about kids activities or the like.

I was so surprised! For a resort with a water park for kids you would think that they would advertise other activities for them. Anything...

Regardless. We all made the most of the time we were there. My son enjoyed the water park. Bring a life jacket for the younger kids b/c they will not let them ride on the bigger water slide without it. My son had a blast on the large water slide.

Not much food to offer for the kids so be prepared. At Fresh they only had pizza. I was lucky b/c my child loves rice, beans and his fruits, however, most children were complaining there wasn't anything else to eat at Fresh other than the pizza. Bad news!

I sat by the pool most days and was mortified to see a coakroach the size of dinky car scurry across my towel! I didn't say anything to my husband until we were leaving...then he mentioned he saw a couple just outside of the doors at Fresh (restaurant) where they keep refreshments. I was disgusted.

The rooms were nice, however the air conditioner is very loud. You will think someone is trying to break in to your room in the middle of the night. Also, you can ALWAYS hear what is going on in the next room as the rooms have an adjoining door.

The Three Palms restaurant is nice. Not much to offer on the menu. My son had the mac and cheese...didn't like it as it was made with penne rather than macaroni. I've been to many an all inclusive resort and this is the first that will charge you for an all inclusive price on their menu! If you want a steak you will need to pay $20 extra! Silly.

This resort does not fill their fridge with the basics such as water. This is a concept that is beyond me. You will have to pay $2.00 for a bottle. INSANE. Really? Any other resort will give you this for free.
They only have one shop in the place that you can buy water or anything else you may need. I purchased a 500ml of coke, a small ball for the water and 6 caramel candies...this cost me $14US.
Lack of entertainment. Very loud as they have this outside...so if you have kids and you are up in your room by 9pm...be prepared to endure the loud music until about 11pm.

We enjoyed our trip to the Great House. It was one of the highlights of our trip.

The ocean is murky. The food isn't the greatest but had to do. The service non-existent. This hotel at best should be a 3 star.

Like I said, I'm not a picky person I make the most out of any situation, however cleanliness (cockroaches) and lack of service and consideration are a no go for me!
Consider staying at Iberostar Rose Hall Suites if you are planning to go to Montego Bay. When I got home, after staying at Iberostar, I wanted to desperately go back. You will be so amazed!
I was so happy to leave Hilton!

I will never go back to Rose Hall Hilton. I will never recommend this resort to anyone.
