We ventured accross Ontario over a week and stopped 2 days in Sudbury to go to the Mines and Science North. The idea to book was courtesy of a Priority Club membership which was our downfall! The Holiday Inn staff were great at trying to correct it, more +but the club itself caused us nothing but grief and conflict, which really, Holiday Inn should disassociate themselves with. Our room was not correct, and we needed to be moved. There was not enough room for 2 kids and 2 adults in the room we apparently booked. There was construction outside. I must say, the evening dining room, although pricey, was wonderful - service exquisite, and wonderful activities to keep the kids occupied. The more casual daytime eatery was equally child-friendly with helpful staff. The pool area was unsupervised, busy and had some rowdy wedding guests. One woman, who obviously had too much to drink, was sweating it out in the sauna after time in the pool - generally just not wise, and why her family didn't take her to her room but allowed her to sweat in the sauna was enough to make us leave the pool before witnessing some horrific incident. My nightmare with Priority left me ill feelings towards all Holiday Inns and I advised the desk staff "guilty by association" as they were put in the position of middle man. They have to work extra hard to balance out what the club is doing. The hallways are dark and somewhat dated decor, but the location is close to lots of eating and the tourist spots. The beds were comfortable, the washrooms tidy and clean. They need to update the tvs to slim models.
