Nicely located and efficient, but decay is in progress

by IdleDescender

The Homewood Suites at Miami Airport are perfectly located for air travellers. The place lures with typical amenities like largely contemporary stylings, a spacious lobby with free soft drinks and cookies, and it even has a neatly located pool.

Definitely pulling for our party of 4 was the availability of a 1 Bedroom Suite with a separate living area plus kitchenette as a day room.

Nevertheless, the beginning of decay is obvious not only in many nooks and crannies.
The walkway to the pool was a bit untidy with wildlife leftovers; room furniture and carpets were a bit oldish and stainy.
The kitchenette's dishwasher was loud and the the microwave's light didn't work as a welcome source of light.
Another nuisance were the coffee cups, that were too small for the given amount of water indicated by the coffee maker; result was a spill in this area with some electrical equipment.

Note the room air conditioning with a deep going grumble in the sleeping room; while it surely does it's work, over the years it has produced ungainly stains at the ceiling.

Despite dubbed a "suite", our accomodation never came close to a little luxury stay - which may be suggested by outdated fotos of the selling website. For greatly added refinement in practically every sense, choose the nearby Pullman Hotel, which fulfilled all our expectations and can be available at a comparable price level. But then, you probably need to accept a standard room over a multi-room suite.

As a dayroom and with a party of more than 2, I might come again for the Homewood's 1 Bedroom Suite. For a cosy night, I would probably avoid the Homewood Suites and choose a finer place.
