Pura Vida for Sure by rmatarrese
This was truly one of our best family vacations ever. Costa Rica has so many diverse activities to offer and this resort was a fabulous way to encounter them. The resort is primarily a timeshare resort but does offer villas for rent. It ... more is nestled on a hillside along Hermosa Beach. The villa we stayed was recently remodeled with stone counter tops and upgraded cabinets and furniture and felt opulent clean and luxurious. Yet you are woken each morning to the sound of howler monkeys and a vast array of birds. The view of the ocean cove was spectacular and I believe that same view is available from all the 2 BR units and some of the 1 BR units. The resort had not only a beach, pools, tennis, exercise room and spa offering massages but also had an on site zip line course.

The infinity pool elevated high up on the ridge leading to the beach provided a spectacular view and had a swim up bar. There was an activity center for the kids (and adults) that had ole fashioned pool tables, ping pong and foosball machines (rather than electronic video and pinball). There was a outdoor covered stage with nightly shows including kids shows three nights of the weeks and a convenience store with all you needs. A shuttle would run every 5 minutes so that you could go to the beach, pools, office, tennis etc without walking the hillside on which this resort is located. Hermosa Beach is a small village at the foot of the hill and along the beach providing just enough commercial venues to keep it interesting but still keep it a quite off the path beach. There were 4 or 5 restaurants and a dozen other small hotels. There was also a small grocery market and all were in walking distance. Tour companies operating out of the resort provide any other diversion you could want including larger zip line courses, rafting, wildlife boat tours, snorkeling, fishing, etc. The resort also offered computers for use at the check-in lobby and wireless Internet in all rooms. The restaurant was terrific and view from it spectacular. The all inclusive option is offered on a daily basis, so you are not stuck to the same restaurant if you choose not to accept it and the unit kitchens allowed you to cook in your room. We will return to Costa Rica and will stay here once again.
