Stay for the location, nothing else

Unfortunately I had an extremely poor experience staying at Hotel Max and can't say I'd recommend it, or that I'd stay there again.

Staff were polite and the free beer and coffee hour was a nice touch, however the real issue is the room itself.

My bathroom made Harry Potter's cupboard underneath the stairs look palatial. When I stood up to clean my teeth, my left thigh touched the wash basin and my right thigh touched the toilet seat. It was probably no more than 1.5sqm - I've stayed in youth hostels that have bigger bathrooms.

There were no drawers in the room, only a cupboard without a light. My measly 30ml toiletries were only changed once in a 7 day stay, so I had to go out and purchase my own. The bathroom had long black hair all over it and a few odd towels had stains on them.

The "fitness centre" is woefully inadequate. Quite literally - 2 treadmills (1 out of order), 1 weights bench, 1 exercise bike and 2 cross trainers (1 out of order) and after 4 consecutive days of using this 'facility', they ran out of towels. I had to go down to reception to ask for more as they clearly don't bother restocking.

At over $200 a night, you can do much much (MUCH) better than this place. Avoid if you can.

Dont stay here

Rented through travel site. The extras really became extras. To park car $50 per day and no discount becasue you are staying there. Rooms are small, rooms have no extras like coffee or frig. The hot water is warm not hot and you would be better off staying a major chain.
