It's doggone good at the Hotel Monaco, Portland, OR

We recently traveled to Portland, Oregon, and stayed at the Hotel Monaco, a Kimpton hotel. This was the perfect place for our nearly 2 year old as they are a pet friendly hotel and have a dog in the lobby that she loved as well as other four-legged more +guests. If you aren't traveling with your pooch, the hotel offers goldfish for you to keep in your room to keep you company during your stay - our daughter absolutely loved the fish! In addition, they had a dog "mixer" the first night of our stay, with dogs in costume - what a hoot!

The hotel doesn't have a pool or play area and the restaurant in the hotel, Red Star, was a bit nice so it might not be a good fit for some families (but they did have really good chicken fingers and the burgers we had were excellent). However, the rooms were comfortable, the decor and atmosphere of the hotel was quirky and fun and the staff was extremely friendly and wonderful with our daughter, so we would highly recommend the Hotel Monaco in Portland to anyone that loves animals.
