Paradise

Never having been to Mexico before we were a little apprehensive after reading some of the negative comments. We neednt have worried. It was amazing from start to finish.
Very quick check in on arrival . Yes the rooms are a little dated but kept immaculatly clean by our maid Elizabeth. Clean towels were provided whenever we needed them. The mini bar was restocked every other day.
The hotel is kept immaculately clean with an army of staff working exceptionally hard. All the staff always have a smile on their faces.
The grounds of the hotel are beautiful with plenty of wildlife and birds.
The beach is kept really clean.
The food in the main buffet restaurant was delicious with so much choice. At night our waitress Genni was lovely She always remembered us and always asked how our day had been.
We didnt try the Italian or Mexican restaurants but thought that the steak in the main restaurant was actually nicer than that in the Steakhouse.
The Asian restaurant was lovely again with so much choice.
Pepes by the Tequila bar. The chicken and choice of salad were delicious. Maria and Yurani worked hard always had a smile and a friendly word.
Miguel who was working in the Ibiza bar used to have a drink ready.
The boys in the main lobby bar worked really hard but never had to wait very long to get served.
The staff are a credit to the hotel.
We never had a problem getting a sunbed on the beach or around the Ibiza pool up near the reception.
All in all we wouldnt hesitate to go back

Fantastic holiday.

My wife and I ended up here due to the collapse of Thomas Cook, it was a good value last minute booking, and we're so glad we picked it.

Check in was easy, everything was explained by the member of staff about food times and locations, towels, the room safe etc.

The room was very clean and beautifully presented with a well stocked mini bar. The bed was really comfortable and made for an excellent nights sleep. The air con was quiet and efficient and kept the room at just the right temperature. The rooms are a little dated and basic, but that's all you need really, it's just somewhere to shower and sleep.

The hotel grounds are beautiful with loads of wildlife, including Howler monkeys, Agouti's and Coati's.

The bar staff were always smiling, no matter how busy it got or how many rude guests they were contending with at the time. The array of drinks was fantastic with a huge choice of local and branded drinks. I'm not really a beer drinker, but the beer was cold and tasted really nice. The wife really enjoyed the cocktails, and tried each of them many times...

The pool and surround were immaculate. Each morning I would walk down to the beach and there was a troop of cleaners mopping, scrubbing and rearranging the sun loungers, they were even raking the sand on the beach. On a couple of days there was a lot of seaweed washing up on the beach, but that's not the hotel fault despite the staff being out clearing it away with rakes. I thought they did a fantastic job.

The food was fantastic, you can basically eat 24 hours a day if you want to. There's a huge choice at breakfast, lunch and dinner and there's Pepe's Food near the pool/beach for snacks (burgers, hotdogs, etc). The staff in the main restaurant were brilliant, always smiling and friendly. We never had to wait long before being asked about drinks and top ups came thick and fast. The food was gorgeous, everything was perfectly cooked, well presented and tasted great.

We've stayed at a few Riu hotels now, and this is easily the best thanks to the hard working, wonderful staff. I'd be more than happy to return here and I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel to anyone who's after a relaxing holiday with fantastic food in a wonderful location.
