Overview

A star of the Dallas skyline, this 28-floor glass and chrome structure is impressive. Adding to its appeal is the fact that it’s connected to the 50-story Reunion Tower with its fantastical geodesic dome topper, resembling a wildly-lit, giant fuzzy dandelion seed head. Kids of all ages will love looking out from the dome’s Stratospheric Observation Deck (hotel guests receive complimentary passes to the deck), as well as the 68-second glass elevator ride zooming to the top. Indoors, the 20-foot stone waterfall fountain in the Texas-sized lobby is a stunner.

The Hyatt’s close proximity to many of the city’s most popular attractions, and its connection to Union Station from an underground concourse, adds to the appeal for families.

Hyatt has a partnership with “Babies Travel Lite,” which allows guests to order baby supplies like diapers and formula in advance and have them shipped to the hotel, to save room. Shop online at least seven days before traveling to the Hyatt, and it will be waiting for you when you arrive.

Reviews

Nice stay

by Richard B

I enjoyed my stay at this hotel. I came to town to meet with friends and to watch my cowboys lose to the Vikings. Anyway, Uber dropped me off from the airport and there were lots of people coming to the hotel in tuxes and classy dresses. There was a ball at the hotel that evening and I felt like I was staying at a happening place! Hotel staff were very friendly and I enjoyed the breakfast bar and evening cocktails at the alcohol bar.

Hyatt Holiday was a Hit

by Tisha S

Room was in excellent condition. Beautiful view of the area. Hotel staff responded promptly to any needs. Restaurants were very good and no waiting. We loved that the Reunion Tower is connected so we could take our kids there.

Family Activities

Dallas offers a great mix of sports (six professional sport teams including football's Dallas Cowboys, basketball's Dallas Mavericks, baseball's Texas Rangers and hockey's Dallas Stars), culture (many museums, including the JFK Museum are just three blocks away) shopping and history (the historic West End, six blocks away). The West End, also called "Dallas' Historic Entertainment District" is home to the Aquarium, horse drawn carriage rides, the House of Blues, and over 25 restaurants.

It's a city hotel, so you won't find a kids' program or tons of on-site extras, but the Hyatt has an outdoor heated pool and spa tub, open year-round. Babysitting is also provided through an outside service, for a fee.

Family Dining

Two family-friendly onsite restaurants are Parrino's Oven and Centennial Cafe. Parrino's is a casual Italian bistro serving pastas and pizzas in an authentic wood-burning oven, which is open for dinner only. Kids' menus are available upon request. Centennial Cafe, serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, has Southwestern-style fare. For children 12 and under, small portions are available for half price.

For a light snack and coffee specialties, the Coffee's Post opens up at 5:30 a.m.

Monduel's is more of a sports bar and game room than restaurant, and is closed to minors after 10 p.m. There is a jukebox, pool table and shuffleboard at the adjoining Bogel's Billiards.

A new Wolfgang Puck restaurant, Five Sixty, atop Reunion Tower is expected to open soon.
