Overview

A serene oasis from the hustle and bustle of central Florida’s theme parks, JW Marriott Orlando, Grande Lakes, offers a luxurious and relaxing resort experience for family as well as business travelers.

Featuring 998 rooms, including 64 suites, and overlooking 500-serene acres of lakes, ponds and greens, the extensive 2003-built resort is known for its magnetic meandering lazy-river pool, lavish amenities and peaceful scenery.

Beginning with the grand lobby interior, complete with stone sculpture, stately arches and a majestic wrought iron staircase, and continuing with the lushly landscaped grounds situated at the headwaters to the Florida Everglades, the resort exudes a luxurious vibe that says, “it’s time to get down to the serious business of relaxation.” From surrey bike rentals, kayak eco-tours and guided nature hikes to a daily activities program and a fun-filled pool complex that’s rated among the best in Orlando, recreational options for families are truly impressive.

When it’s time to refuel, a number of dining venues offer kid-friendly fare along with prompt and personalized service. From Cafe Bodega — a terrific grab-and-go spot featuring organic, kid-friendly options and over 128 different beverages — to lavish fruit-filled buffets at Citron, the resort caters to young-taste buds as well as short-attention spans. Kids even receive special treatment at Primo, an upscale adult-oriented venue where they can order up pint-sized portions of pasta, pizza and all-natural chicken fingers served with freshly prepared mashed potatoes.

Throughout their stay, families also enjoy access to facilities of The Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes next door, including a 40,000-square-foot Ritz-Carlton Spa, a par-72, Greg Norman-designed golf course and Ritz Kids, a perennially popular, supervised children’s program.

Birthday/Anniversary

by Shannon K

Had another great stay at the JW. Arrived Friday and had drinks in lobby lounge, Jaime Lee, took awesome care of us, remembering all of our names and had 3 separate checks with our group and she managed awesome. Had bar snacks and our favorite cheese board. We were upgraded to a pool view, front desk staff is always friendly and efficient. This is our 3rd stay at this property this year and we love it. The lazy river is wonderful. I would highly recommend this property . Only disadvantage is room service is always busy, my daughter tried for over an hour with no one answering. My wife finally had to go to the front desk to place an order and as usual they were awesome and accommodated. I had 2 rooms and they let my guest have a late check out. Whenever I call, I usually get Gloria and she is so pleasant. Can’t say enough about the staff and service. Thanks for yet another great stay. See you soon.

October weekend, very busy hotel, poolside not jam-packed, nice

by GoThere88

Our king room was spacious, included coffee maker, and we chose a pool view- beautiful evening out the window and nice view of a big section of the pool. Service was good, the restaurant was not crowded at all for 9 a.m. breakfast.

Easy to check out pool floats, all a good island paradise feeling. The poolside restaurant has good casual food- burgers, nachos, plus more, all served reasonably fast and hot.

There's a Starbucks at the Lobby level near the shops, good for snacks all day. Valet service is included in the facilities fee; it's fast and courteous.

Be sure to walk over to the Ritz next door - sharing amenities with Marriott, and there are restaurants too. You can use the Ritz pool if too many children and splashing at the Marriott lazy river.

Check out the herb garden - walk to the left of the pool area when going out to the pool - they've expanded the garden and it's beautiful!

Overall this was a good weekend with family members from kids to elders. We enjoyed it once again and will be back.
