If you go to Hawaii, Kauai is the island to stay on and Kauai Coast Resort at the Beachboy in Kapaa is an awesome resort to stay at. We had a 2 bedroom suite with an ocean view and heard the waves every night, of course leaving the sliding glass more +door open. It was so peaceful falling asleep to the crashing of the waves. It was difficult to leave.

The resort is located close to everything. Lots of activities and it sits right on the ocean. Amazing view. Our suite was very nice with plenty of room. The grounds and pool were immaculate! There were so many pretty bushes, flowers surrounding the ocean-front property! Lots of lounge chairs around the pool and water. Hope you like birds, because there are roosters (yes & chickens!) pigeons, and cardinals that roam free around the property. We were very impressed with the quality of the room, service of the staff and location. The room is as advertised: washer/dryer, full kitchen, 2 HD TVs and very clean and comfortable. The separate bedroom is nice and a large bathroom also. The kitchen is fully equipped and they have communal gas BBQs down by the pool.

Perfect central location, pleasant condo, beautiful grounds, nice walk along ocean out front. Not a wide beach in front of hotel, but all beaches are public so just walk a short way to find wide beaches. This hotel was nice and quiet, too. Make sure you eat at the Hukilau restaurant-- great fish! The grounds are absolutely lovely, including the waterfall at the pool, it's relatively small and private.
