Kona Village relaxation

This was our third visit to Kona Village and we had a wonderfully relaxing time. While the property is in need of a refurbishment, we still love the authentic Hawaiian feel and the staff who have been there for many years. We chose a hale on the more +beach, which was perfect for chillaxing on a hammock in the shade and watching the sunset before dinner. There was really no need to leave the property. Food is great. Kids had a wonderful time with the watersports and Hawaiian crafts. Our daughter made her own Hawaiian skirt from tea leaves, a flower lei, shell necklaces and bracelets and anklets, learned the hula and was in the opening number of the luau. We spent a fabulous morning on a snorkeling trip where we were fortunate to swim with dolphins in the wild, listen and see whales up close along with dozens of varieties of tropical fish and coral. We also went out in an outrigger canoe one day which was great fun and saw lots of sea turtles while snorkeling off the beach.
