Nine styles of thatched-roof hale (hah-lay) include one-room styles that can sleep four (many with a King and two twins) and two-room styles that can sleep five (king, twins and a rollaway).

The price of each hale has everything to do with where it's positioned in proximity to the ocean. The lowest priced rooms have a garden view, partial ocean views charge more and full ocean views are the most pricey. Some ocean view hale enjoy their own private lanai whirlpool.

Again, the hale do not have air-conditioning, phones, radios, TV's or DVD players, and there is no Internet access. Parents will love that the rooms come with well-stocked refrigerators (a delicious blend of passion fruit, orange and guava juices, bottled water and soda), but microwaves are not available. You'll also find in-room coffee makers and grinders for the -- what else? -- 100 percent whole-bean Kona coffee.
