Being in the desert, the summers can get very hot in Lake Havasu -- usually around 115 Fahrenheit. The best time to visit is in the spring, fall and winter so you can take advantage of the outdoors as much as possible. If visiting in the spring, be sure to check spring break schedules. On the water, families can rent water sports equipment, take cruises or tours or just play on the shore. The Rotary Park even has a roped-off area, making it easy for parents to watch little ones. This area is also equipped with a wheelchair ramp, making it accessible to most anyone. The water area near the London Bridge (yes, from the nursery rhyme) is a popular spot to find rentals if you didn't get one ahead of time.

London Bridge in Lake Havasu, Arizona is also the perfect photo spot and must-see during your family vacation. It is the most famous attraction in Lake Havasu and really a beautiful structure. The founder of Lake Havasu bought it from London and had it shipped over brick by brick and reassembled. The bridge was originally built in 1831 and spanned a section of the Thames River. Now, boaters and kayakers love to rest in its shade.

There are many unique hikes in the area, as well as a gorgeous park next to the lake. Taking advantage of picnics and public parks, vacationing in Lake Havasu, Arizona can be very affordable for families.
