The Art of Smart Timing
Roughly 75 percent of the area's visitors descend upon Banff National Park June through August, the park's high season. The lowest rates can be found during the winter, from November to March. Shoulder season is April through May and September through October, where families visit for spring skiing or fabulous fall foliage.

Getting There
Lake Louise is a two-hour drive from Calgary and about a 45-minute drive from the town of Banff. Calgary International Airport, the closest airport, is serviced by Air Canada and other airlines.

Getting Around
In summer, it's best to have a car. During ski season, some of the lodges provide complimentary shuttles to the Lake Louise Ski area.
