All About the Extras
Before you arrive, request those items you know you will need, from strollers to and Nintendo games. Unlike many supposedly "pet-friendly" properties, the Loews Le Concorde accepts dogs of all sizes, not just the pocketbook pooches weighing 25 pounds or less. Even though we aren't traveling with our dogs, we enjoy encountering Max, a beautiful golden retriever; Lucy, a loveable dachshund mix; and the other pets in the lobby or in the elevator. For us, this adds to the hotel's friendly and welcoming atmosphere.

The Art of Smart Timing
Summer is high season for travel to Quebec, and rates may remain high through fall when the foliage creates a dazzling display of color. In general, winter is low season for travel to the region (except for a spike in visitation during the city's well-known Winter Carnival, typically held for two weeks from late-January through February).

Getting There
Jean-Lesage International Airport is about a 20-minutes drive from Quebec City. Airlines that fly into Quebec include Air Canada, Continental, United, Porter and Westjet. Via Rail Canada trains arrive at the Gare du Palais station at 450 rue de-la-Gare-du-Palais.

Getting Around
When you get tired of walking, board one of the blue and white Ecolobuses that circle the Old City (for a nominal fee) or take a taxi. In Quebec, instead of hailing taxis, passengers line up at a taxi stop or call for a car. Taxi Coop, 418-525-5191, is one of several taxi local companies.

For Mom and Dad
If you feel comfortable with one f the recommended babysitter services, try a romantic dinner at L'Astral with the lights of the city twinkling below you. The property also has a small fitness room.
