Lovely hotel

by weneedvitamind

This hotel was really comfortable and clean. It has great views across San Francisco and views from the outside bar are amazing (dont forget to take a coat!!)
The hotel is based in the financial district so a good taxi ride to Pier 39 and Pier 35 where you get the ferry to Alcatraz.
Staff are lovely, wish I could remember the receptionist name as she was so friendly and helpful

California Dreaming

We are on a 14 day trip from San Francisco to LA, via Carmel, Cambria Beach, and Santa Barbara so here goes. Our first stop was the Loews Regency which is a lovely hotel, as it's the staff that make it so welcoming and friendly. The rooms are a little tired and in need if upgrading, and it is rumoured that it may soon change hands to a Four Seasons.

We arrived late evening from our long flight and were promptly checked in. The room was fine until we realised it was next to the lift. The following morning, Bree on reception was most helpful and understanding, and we were moved and upgraded for any inconvenience to a larger room with great Bay views. The location of the hotel is in my opinion the best. Others of a similar class, such as the Fairmont are out of the centre, whereas the Loews is walkable to all points you may wish to visit.

Very comfy bed, good sleep, bathrooms dated with shower curtains etc

The stay was made very special by Michael, the assistant concierge, who is knowledgeable and gets to work straight away on your reservations or tours. His colleague Rosemary recommended Noah's for what are the best Bagels, and a 5 minute walk from the hotel.

In short, the staff could not have been more helpful. as I said, the hotel is tired but it is still luxurious, so don't let that put you off. You get fab views when the fog clears across the city and Bay - we were lucky to be located on the 43rd floor, thanks to the team!
