The resort's Coyote Kids club offers kids ages 4 to 12 a supervised program of games, crafts and recreation daily from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m., which includes lunch. A neat project they offer the kids is the photo safari, where each child is given a Fisher Price camera to take pictures of surrounding plants and attractions that interest them. It is made into a keepsake book that is mailed to their homes when they return from the vacation. Other activities include a desert ecology and grounds tour where kids can take a walk on the resort's Window Walk Nature Trail, a half mile educational nature trail created in partnership with the Arizona-Sonora Desert Museum, Tucson Botanical Gardens and Friends of Sabino Canyon. Other kids' club activities include crafts, croquet, duck and koi feeding and friendship beading. Parents need to register children at the concierge desk by 6 p.m. the evening prior to the scheduled program day. There is no separate program for teens.

Families will also love the 3,000-square-foot freeform swimming pool and Jacuzzi, as well as the lighted tennis courts and playground, with slide and swings. Golf enthusiasts will enjoy teeing off at the resort's two Tom Fazio-designed 18-hole PGA golf courses which weave through the desert hills and canyons of the Catalina Mountains. The resort also has a spa with some non-traditional treatments like those with Sedona sacred clay, as well as a fitness center and aerobic studio offering a variety of classes including Yoga and Pilates. There are also hiking trails into the Catalina Mountains which begin on the resort's property.

The Loews also offers complimentary stargazing on Wednesday and Saturday nights, when the property's croquet court is transformed into an observatory. Guests can use a high-powered telescope to take in the night sky.

The resort is set in beautiful surroundings, with endless options for outdoor adventures. At the nearby Arizona Sonoran Desert Museum, kids can get up close and personal with animals native to the Sonoran Desert, including mountain lions, Gila monsters and prairie dogs.

The concierge will assist guests with baby sitters for any occasion and has a fully stocked lending library of games for kids.
