Great Birthday Trip

by gillianobr

Traveling with my daughters and mom to celebrate her 80th birthday. We only heard great things from friends who have stayed here from back home in Ireland. We booked a superior room with 2 beds. We had the pleasure of checking in with a young man that was kind to us on check in. Daniel was such a nice person. He gave us a larger room with two queen beds in the towers. It was such a beautiful touch. We are so thankful. We come from a very simple way of life so this went such a long way for my mom. Glad to experience such an amazing hotel. Plus there is no place back home with 46 floors so that was really exciting.

Outdated Rooms

Recently stayed 4 nights here on a trip to celebrate my mom’s 70th birthday. The location is great if you’re looking to stay in mid town. We paid an extra $50 per night to upgrade to a room with a view of St. Patrick’s Cathedral (they wouldn’t upgrade us due to the special occasion which was annoying - didn’t even send up any dessert or wine which many hotels will do if you’re celebrating something special). The view of the cathedral was the only benefit of staying here. Spectacular view to wake up to. Otherwise, the rooms are very tired and dated. No coffee maker or USB plugs. Old system to control the lights and AC. Both phones in our room were old as hell and broken. Bathrooms are very old. We enjoyed our stay but won’t be staying here again. For the price, there are nicer options.
