The Madonna Inn is a resort located just outside of downtown San Luis Obispo. The grounds hold a squiggly outdoor pool and 45-foot cascading waterfall that kids will love. There is a shopping boutique on the premises that sells men's and women's clothing, specialty foods and a range of souvenirs. Parents will want to frequent the Spa, offering facials and body treatments. The Spa also caters to teens. As for feeding the troops, there are two restaurants, a pastry shop and a lounge. Each room is unique with its own name, like "California Poppy" or "Highway Suite." Special amenities include rock showers, waterfalls, balconies and fireplaces. All units include flat-screen televisions, Internet access, cribs on request and plush terry bathrobes. Guests receive free local newspapers. Madonna Inn realizes the importance of family vacations, which is why they allow kids under 16 to stay with parents for free. To get to the resort, families can take a complimentary airport shuttle. Families can hike, bike or fly via hot air balloon when discovering the area.
