The central Florida destination of choice for young families and the ultimate land of make-believe, Disney's Magic Kingdom Park delivers magic, memories and non-stop fun for kids of all ages. Opened in 1971 and situated on 142 acres, with the 189-foot-tall Cinderella Castle at its center, Magic Kingdom was modeled after California's Disneyland and includes six themed lands, each offering a generous dose of enchantment and surprise for visitors. From splash-happy thrills in Frontierland to endearing flying elephants in Fantasyland to an action-paced Space-Age video game come-to-life in Tomorrowland, there's literally something for every adventurer.

Compared to Walt Disney World Resort's three later-to-debut theme parks, Magic Kingdom offers the most rides for small children, as well as the greatest number of opportunities to meet up with a character. Plan to spend at least one to two days in order to enjoy the full experience. For a breathtaking finale to a captivating visit, there's nothing like taking in the iridescent Main Street Electrical Parade, or experiencing Wishes nighttime fireworks show -- a spectacular story in the sky celebrating hopes, dreams and magic.

A major of expansion of Fantasyland, completed in 2014, brings more magic and more opportunities for Disney fun, too. New Fantasyland highlights include two new castles, new rides starring Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs and Ariel, and a Storybook Circus complete with a re-themed Goofy ride and a double feature for Dumbo with FASTPASS+ access and an indoor interactive play zone.
