This resort located in the Orlando, Fl Area is well positioned to take advantage of the amenities of the area. Notwithstanding, the Resort provides such a variety of activities for the children, in this case grandchildren, as well as for adults; more +that one does not have to leave the property at all. There is something for everyone.
The activities provided include swimming pools, supervised and well organized children's tournaments and contests. Poolside Live entertainment, Snack Bars, Ice Cream Parlor, Arcade Games, Ping Pong Tables, Fishing, Non-Motorized Water Craft. A Golf Course just across the street. At this point, I'll conclude with and more... Check out their website and judge for yourself. This is last year's review. It is the same as the year before, and I will be returning On June 5, 2010 in one week from today. Enjoy.

bcmom90 - May 14th, 2010
On April 9th and 10th, my husband and I, along with our children, significant mates and grandchildren arrived from various parts of the country (Seattle, Chicago, North Carolina, Boston, New Hampshire) in Orlando. With advance preparation, we were more +able to snag 2 units close to each other in the same building. One unit was a 3-bedroom unit, the other a 2 bedroom unit. Two of our kids chose to stay on the Disney campus, but the rest of us (11) were comfortable in the two units at GV.

Our grandkids are ages 1 1/2, 6 and 8 so we chose to buy Disney theme park tickets for 2 days with them. It was enough since there is so much offered at the GV resort. Each day has planned activities for all ages on the premises so that there is never 'down' time unless you want it. One of the experiences for the children was a reptile (alligators, scorpions, snakes etc) demonstration delivered by a trainer from Gatorland. This was a totally enjoyable and educational experience. Most kids are happy just being in the pool and GV offers several pools, one especially dedicated to youngsters with a toddler pool aside it. Pool toys and floats are permitted also. For those who enjoy kidfree pools, there are those also.

The units are very clean, have quality towels, kitchen paraphernalia, large dining area, outside patio with furniture overlooking the grounds. Each bedroom has its own flat screen TV, DVD player and comfortable beds. Plenty of closet space is also there and the master bedroom features a jacuzzi and safe in the closet area. Housekeeping services are available at extra cost (we have time-share) but we chose to do our own. If something was amiss (ie a new lock was needed, a lightbulb blew etc) within minutes the staff came to fix it. AND, they followed up with a phonecall within a half hour to see if the service had been done.

There is a 9 hole golf course, pro shop, lessons etc on the grounds, boat rentals for the lake there, a Marketplace store carrying essential foodstuffs, sunscreen etc., a Pizza Hut, coffee shop etc. We chose to have some meals 'in' since it's easier with kids. There are supermarkets within a block or two where you can purchase food.

The location is very centralized, really quick to get to the parks, and just down the street from Sea World. This was our 3rd family trip there and we love it. Can't wait to go again!
