There is skiiing, snowtubing, iceskating, and a huge indoor waterpark and arcade. Love this place and we will be back! Lots of good food around and indoor swimming and hot tubs. The kids loved it and had a blast. We will definitely return in the more +summer as well...

Massanutten's resort is family friendly! They have an awesome indoor water park for those that do not ski. The indoor water park also has an arcade room! They have snow tubing which is really fun for all ages. They have a great snowboarding park for more +those into that. I love the fact that their Ski Lodge is at the bottom of the mountain so that you can always get that last run in and then leave. They have a great rec center with indoor pool, hot tub, basketball. ping pong, board games, pool tables, and more.

The fall leaves were blazing with color the last week of October, the perfect time to take in both history and nature in Virginia's Appalachian Mountains and Shenandoah Valley regions. Massanutten Resort was a great place for our family of 6 to use more +for "home base", with enough amenities on-site, including mini-golf and an indoor water park, to tempt us to not venture further. However, the crisp, cool, fall air beckoned, and we headed out to Skyline Drive, a panoramic route along the mountain range. With numerous places to stop and hike, the handy trail map that was provided by the park ranger upon entrance to the park was essential. We selected several short "easy" trails to warm up, and then tried one of the more challenging rock scrambles, much to our kids' delight. The 7-day entrance fee to Skyline Drive has increased to $15 per vehicle, but for a whole weeks' worth of hiking, nature programs at Big Meadows visitor center, and incredible mountain views, it was well worth every penny.
Harrisonburg, VA, was right around the corner from Massanutten, with shopping and historical sights there, but we opted to try the Frontier Culture Museum in Staunton, VA, about 45 minutes away. The museum has done an incredible job depicting life for the first settlers coming to the Shenandoah Valley, with historical interpreters (weavers, blacksmiths, cooks, shepherds, etc.) at each "farm" telling what kind of life the settlers had left behind, and what kind of life they made for themselves in the frontier.

Our 2-BR unit at Massanutten had a full kitchen, enabling us to save a little on food costs as we ate breakfast there each morning, and packed a picnic lunch each day. We did treat ourselves to dinner out most nights, and by far our two favorite places were "Mrs. Rowe's Family Restaurant" in Staunton, and "El Paso Mexican Grille" in Elkton. Both were very reasonably priced (under $10/person) and the food was fresh and delicious. Both also have menus on their websites.
So far, within an hour's drive we have found four presidential birthplaces or homes (Jefferson, Madison, Monroe, Wilson), three caverns (Endless, Grand, and Luray), a Civil War battlefield (New Market), and hiking trails to our heart's content!

My granddaughters and their parents have been to this resort the previous year. When they invited us, they showed us all around. The resort has a water park, which occupied the girls all day, After playing with the kids 1/2 the day the adults had more +a drink and relaxed at the bar. The girls feed the deer, who walk right up to you and eat out of your hand. The ski lift was amazing, miniature golf, bumping cars. The activities go on and on. The location was secluded and relaxing or exciting and busy - whichever you choose. We truly enjoyed this vacation with the grandchildren.

Massanutten Resort is located in Virginia near Skyline Drive. It is associated with RCI, a timeshare trading company.
My family has been vacationing there for about 8 years now. They continue to add more features almost every year. The more +resort has an indoor\outdoor waterpark. It would compare to a Great Bear waterpark. It has numerous slides and tubes, lazy river, flow rider, hot tubs, big dumping bucket, and a tyke area. The top level is a sit down restaurant with an all-u-can eat buffet if you choose. Second level is a sports bar type atmosphere located near an arcade, gift shop and bakery. The lower level is the locker room and water area. The entire building has viewing areas, to see your children if you choose not to get wet.

The resort also has many pools scattered around the property (indoor as well as outdoor).

We enjoy the many forms of entertainment. There are magic shows, comedy shows, live music, etc...
The resort offers an activity card for a fee. This card, when purchased, includes craft classes, tanning sessions, discounted spa services, golf, discounted horseback riding, caverns, national battlefield admission, etc...

The resort has skiing and tubing in the winter, go-carts and mountain biking in summer. There are wine festivals and beer tasting parties.

My family loves the area. There are so many things to do on and off the resort. Monticello, Luray Caverns, Endless Caverns, Grand Caverns, New Market battlefield, to name a few are all very close to the resort.

It is a 4 season vacation spot. The resort also offers child care with day camps.

If anyone would be interested in visiting the resort you can email me. They offer 3 and 4 day FREE vacations to referred guests.
