This is a fabulous resort with the staff to match. They are currently undergoing renovations (October 09) to the pools and other areas (though I saw nothing lacking). This was my first trip to Hawaii and this resort was all I could have asked for. more + Some of the best snorkeling on our trip was right off the beaches at the resort (ask the staff where to go). Snorkeling equipment was complimentary for several hours. This resort did not nickel and dime you. Parking and use of laundry room was included. I didn't use all the services so there are likely more.

The facilities are well thought out and include several acres of a historical group of fish ponds which are quiet beautiful and full of a variety of fish and eels. The resort is also part of a turtle restoration project. Young turtles are found in several ponds. The ponds in and around the hotel are full of fish. There are programs on the turtle program, fish feedings, and others I didn't participate in. Yes, they have sharks too! Many of the programs on site are free to the guests. With so much to do on the island, there just wasn't time for everything.

As we spent a good deal of the time sightseeing, we only had a few meals at the hotel, but they were not a disappointment. One was the breakfast buffet. We got the fruit and pastry buffet as well as the full buffet. Made you wish you were two people so you could eat more. Fruit is abundant, as are curious birds. The dining area for the poolside hut and the breakfast area are open air. NO bugs when we were there.

Our room was conservative and well finished and must have been recently done. Separate sinks, toilet, and large tub/shower. Shutters, screens, and windows pushed back into pockets, Plenty of geckos too. FYI, don't leave food on the terrace unless you like bird poop. Turn down service in evening, but we were usually so tired we were already lying down.

One added touch we didn't expect-we were celebrating and mentioned it upon check-in and were surprised with a bottle of champagne. Also, on check-in you receive a beverage and leis The room included beautiful orchids during our stay. I didn't see anyone with babies while we were there so I couldn't speak to that. The resort was only at 30%.

Whether young or old, this resort is stunning. I would highly recommend it.
