We stayed at the Monterey Bay Lodge, a very family friendly hotel. We stayed in the family suite. It is a regular guest room with king size bed and a separate small room with bunk beds. The kids room also has its own tv and a Nintendo 64. Kids more +can check out up to 3 games at a time in the lobby. The kids room is really the size of a closet. It worked out fine for a few nights, but would be too cramped for a longer stay. I booked online for our family of five and was surprised that there were only enough beds for four. There is not enough room to bring in a cot, so the family suite only sleeps four. It was too cold to use the pool while we were there, but we did enjoy the jacuzzi. The pool would be a lot of fun in the summer. It has a large Shamu step with a fountain in the shallow end. The room was clean and the staff is very friendly.

One of the great features of this hotel was it's location. It is directly across the street from the Dennis the Menace Park. My kids loved this park. There is something for everyone. There is an old steam train for the children to climb, tunnels, bridges, shrub maze, boat play structure, climbing wall & a rolling slide. There is also a skateboarding park for the teens. At the lake behind the park there are paddle boats to rent. We spent hours at this great park.
