Halloween in Paradise

by Tom K

Had a wonderful time at Morritts Tortuga and it was well positioned for day trips around to other parts of the island. We especially enjoyed Crystal Caverns and Rum Point. Morritts beach is protected by the reef so it is very smooth water and wonderful for snorkling right from the beach.

Not a great first impression

We just recently stayed at the Morritts and on arrival were told they had upgraded our room to a one bdrm and within 10 minutes had it taken away from some mysterious mgmt. person behind a door. She wouldn't come out, and let the young girl at the front desk handle it. Also paying for the utilities at resort? What?? in 13 years of owning a Hyatt Timeshare never have we been charged for utilities. The next morning after breakfast walked out on the beach and it had garbage everywhere - I never went to that beach again - They need to take some pride in their resort. The rooms were O.K. but we were there with another 2 couples and we all had to have maintenance come once or twice to our rooms. The pools were very nice and the rest of island was Awesome. Just would not recommend this resort - the rooms definitely need to be updated for sure.
