New Orleans may be famous for its Mardi Gras celebrations, but Universal Studios Orlando is giving the city a run for its money with its own big party, fit for the entire family. Held on select nights from Feb. 7 to Apr. 18, Mardi Gras at Universal includes 16 concerts and a Mardi Gras Parade, complete with 1.8 million beads and floats designed by Blane Kern Studios, which designs authentic floats for the New Orleans’ events.

Parades are held on various Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights, with a Little Jester’s Parade Viewing Area for kids. Concert performances kick off with Olivia Newton-John and include kid-friendly acts like Kelly Clarkson, the B-52s and the Band Perry. Musicians from New Orleans will also be on hand throughout the event.

Authentic Cajun cuisine will be available at the French Quarter Courtyard.

Universal Mardi Gras is included in the price of entrance to the theme park. Check Universal Studios Orlando’s web site for specific concert and parade dates.
